Abstract

|
|
The significance of a day or night hospital for psychiatric patients facing difficulties for a full-time hospitalization or whose home surroundings are not cooperative to treatment, or who need to be slowly readjusted to social life, was briefly explained in the foregoing. Two patients were included. One patient was a male patient with personality disorder, whose disturbed relation with his father presented a difficult family situation. The use of the night hospital proved to be a perfect way of treatment, as he was following his job and receiving the necessary care at night until his full recovery. The other was a young female patient who equally made use of the night hospital. She needed adjustment to social life which was provided by her leaving the hospital during the day, meeting friends and learning calligraphy, while she got support therapy when she came back to the hospital. This treatment proved to be a full success and in the meantime she left the hospital and taken up a job as a school teacher.
